Omar Khan
Co-Founder & CEO
Omar Khan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Ruh, a trusted Muslim Online Therapy Platform. Not finding a solution to cope with his mental health challenges, his journey began with building an app focused on Islamic mindfulness, Ruh, which then evolved into the world's largest directory of Muslim therapists, with over 800 therapists offering support across 20 countries.
Last year, Ruh launched its online therapy platform to provide direct therapy services in line with Islamic values to communities in Canada, the UK, and Australia. Previously, Omar served as an Advisory Product Manager at IBM and served as a volunteer with several non-profit and charitable organizations such as Islamic Relief, Yaqeen Institute, and more. He is currently a Master of Divinity candidate at The Islamic Seminary of America and also holds an MBA and a Bachelors in Computer Systems Engineering.
Omar's work, advocating for Muslim mental health on the global stage, has mobilized the community and received international recognition, including awards from the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance Summit in Germany, the Visionary Leadership Award from the Islamic Seminary of America, the Continuum Spark Award in Qatar, winning first place amongst over 330 Muslim social impact initiatives from across 28 countries, and recently the Beacon Award from the Muslim Mental Health Conference held at Stanford University as an emerging leader in Muslim Mental Health.
Continuing to instill impact on our communities, Omar is dedicated to creating innovative, diverse, and equitable solutions to help improve the mental and spiritual well-being of the world.
